What is Special Yoga

Special Yoga combines body, breath and mindfulness practices which are accessible, adaptable and effective for every person in every body.

These practices when applied therapeutically can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, some of which are listed below.

While I specialise in supporting individuals with complex mental health conditions, disabilities, neurodivergence, and co-occurring conditions, I tailor each session to address a persons unique needs.

These practices are also of benefit to family members and caregivers, by creating the foundations for an regulated nervous system so that the benefits of the practice can be experienced on and off the mat.

    • OCD, Autism, ADHD & other neuro-divergent conditions

    • Developmental conditions

    • Cerebral Palsy

    • Hypermobility / Low muscle tone

“We can't thank Jodie enough for the work she does with our 28 year old son who has learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and PTSD. He loves his weekly yoga lessons! With her gentle, patient approach and sound understanding of his difficulties, Jodie works miracles.

It's a joy to see our son so calm and engaged during yoga sessions, even on days where he is otherwise really struggling to self-regulate. Her support has been invaluable through a difficult period in his life.”

What to Expect in Working with Me

  • This free 15-minute phone call gives you a chance to share your challenges and allows me to offer guidance on whether Special Yoga could be a good fit for your needs.

  • After the initial phone call I will send you an intake form to complete in advance of our first session.

  • Sessions typically last around 45 minutes, though I adapt to each student’s needs and comfort level. It can sometimes take time to gradually build up to a full 45-minute session.

A session may include asana (Yoga postures), Pranayama (breathing practices), Relaxation, Singing and sound and energy practices. I work intuitively and am guided by the needs of the student.

Most sessions are in person, though online sessions are available when needed.

How the Pricing Works

  • Single Private 1:1 Special Yoga Session – £65

Sessions are 45 minutes long and
can be booked individually at your convenience, subject to availability.

  • 6-Week Session Package – £360 (£60 per session)

Each session is 45 minutes long.
The package must be used within 6 months of purchase.

We are aware that even the lowest price will still be too much for some. If this is the case, please email jodie@remediyogatherapy.co.uk where we will be able to help you further.

Cancelling and rescheduling my session

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. This allows me the opportunity to offer the session to another student and gives you the best chance to book an alternative time.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be payable. I will always do my best to accommodate a new appointment date if availability allows.

How Sessions Make People Feel

  • “We requested if Remedi Yoga could run chair yoga therapy sessions at the Community Connex centre in Pinner. When Jodie arrived she brought a warm and calm atmosphere as she guided our clients through a series of chair exercises suitable for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Our clients tell us they really enjoy the yoga sessions and always look forward to seeing Jodie”

    Stephen (Support Worker)

  • ""I have autism, bipolar and mental health issues. Yoga is a wonderful opportunity for people like me, as I find exercise too much in the context of public spaces, that I find overloading and difficult to cope with. This one-to-one option is ideal to try and keep fit and healthy, a person centred class which also helps my mood, fitness and I enjoy the relaxation."

  • "Jodie’s yoga sessions at Kenton Road Care Home have been a truly wonderful addition to our resident’s wellbeing programme. Her calm approach helps my resident feel much more relaxed during each session. My resident has shown noticeable improvements in mood, posture, and overall mobility since attending every Friday. Beyond the physical benefits, Jodie creates an atmosphere of peace and connection by playing soft music and guiding gentle movements that help the resident relax, feel more centred, and engage more positively. It’s been heartwarming to see how her sessions encourage participation and lift my resident’s spirits. Her kindness and gentle encouragement make a real difference to the emotional wellbeing of my resident. We are so grateful for the care, patience, and joy Jodie brings to each Friday session"
